Background
1990's
saw the dot com business boom. Every aspect of human existence, be it
education, business, communication, entertainment, health, etc., changed
their meaning. Things were never the same as before. Information Technology
was embraced by the whole world with open arms. Governments of various
nations were not far behind in realizing the potential of this sector
and e-governance became the buzzword.
Since independence,
the Government of India has taken numerous initiatives to provide the
best services to its citizens. This goal cannot be achieved without
improving the way it functions. E-governance precisely helps the government
improve their productivity by incorporating various automation and decision-making
tools.
Cyber Infodev
Pvt. Ltd, a Delhi-based IT solutions company realized the potential
in this sector quite early. One of its first projects in this sector
was 'Gyandoot' in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh. It has come a long
way since then and has a host of successful projects to boast of. Inspired
by the success of such endeavours, Cyber Infodev has carved out a specialized
division for e-governance called 'Neev'.
Neev's
mission is to lay down the foundation of e-governance. Since to create
something big the foundation should be strong the name 'Neev' was chosen.
Its ultimate goal is to make e-governance a reality in India.
