What is Neev?
Ans: Neev is the e-governance division of an IT solutions company called Cyber Infodev Pvt. Ltd. based in New Delhi. It provides a range of products and services to assist the government in using the ICT tools to their advantage.

Is Neev a private limited company?
Ans: Neev is the e-Governance division of a private limited company called Cyber Infodev Pvt. Ltd. It does not have an independent existence.

What is Cyber Infodev Pvt Ltd?
Ans: Cyber Infodev Pvt. Ltd. is an IT solutions company based in New Delhi. It was established in 1998 in Madhya Pradesh and enjoys the status of bringing Internet revolution to central India.

How are Neev & CID related?
Ans: Cyber Infodev Pvt. Ltd. is an IT solutions company. Neev is its product division that caters to providing customizable solutions to bring e-governance revolution in India.

What prompted Neev to venture in the area of e-Governance?
Ans: Seeing the technological developments across the world and the benefits of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), we at Cyber Infodev Pvt. Ltd. thought of making the best of this opportunity. In fact, the Government of India has already taken various initiatives to bring e-governance revolution to India. The first step taken by Cyber Infodev Pvt. Ltd. in this direction was way back in 2000 through a project called 'Gyandoot' in Madhya Pradesh. The success of this project gave impetus to Cyber Infodev Pvt. Ltd. to delve deeper into the ocean of e-governance. After a detailed study of the market conditions and the structure of government functioning, a separate product division was carved out of the then structure of the company. Thus, a division called 'Neev' was formed that is dedicated to providing solutions for e-governance.

Is Neev funded by any government scheme or development program?
Ans: Neev is in its nascent stages. To begin with it is not being funded by any government scheme or development programme but by its parent company Cyber Infodev Pvt. Ltd. It might apply for third part funding once it is able to establish itself in the market.

How does Neev counter software piracy?
Ans: Each of our software shall have a unique registration key that shall be given by Neev. These keys cannot be guessed easily as they are generated at random, without any pre-defined codification scheme.

Which schemes or rural development programs do Neev's software cater to?
Ans: To begin with Neev has developed software that cater to 3 major schemes namely, Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY), Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) and Watershed Mission. It has also developed a software for the identification of Below Poverty Line (BPL) people. Software like Panchayati Raj Accounts, bi-lingual email application, DRDA Accounts, SGRY, JGSY, etc. are also in the pipeline.

What is the cost of various softwares?
Ans:

These prices have been set keeping in mind the functionality being offered, the market demand, a comparative analysis of other software in the market, the payment capacity of various government departments, etc.

What kind of after-sales support does Neev provide?
Ans: Neev has a dedicated Call Centre for providing after-sales customer support.

How many users can use a software?
Ans: The number of users who can use a software depends upon the User License that has been paid for at the time of purchase of the software. For more details refer to the Price List.

How shall Neev help to bring e-Governance to India?
Ans: Neev shall not bring e-governance revolution to India on its own but shall be an aid or a helping hand to various government agencies to make informed decisions to do the same. Neev shall do this by way of providing consultancy services and software, offering solutions to various problems faced in the implementation of e-governance.

Shall any changes be required in the government structure to implement these software?
Ans: No changes whatsoever shall be required in the government structure to implement any of Neev's software. In fact, our software have been developed after a detailed study of the government structure and functioning.

How can we get the old data in the software?
Ans: We provide data entry services for entering the old data into our software. In future, we shall also have a provision to import data directly from excel sheets, etc.

Can these softwares be customized according to a specific district's needs?
Ans: All our products are based on the customer's needs. A detailed Need Identification Survey is carried out by our marketing team, which interacts closely with our potential customers. Thus, due care has been taken to make them as user friendly as possible, we are open to minor changes, at extra charges.

Which schemes or rural development programs are to be covered in future?
Ans: Depending upon the response that we get for our current software that cover 3 major schemes namely, Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY), Indira Aawas Yojana (IAY) and Watershed Mission, we shall develop new software covering other schemes like Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY), JGSY, etc. This list is indicative and is subject to change depending upon the results of our market study.

Has Neev taken permission from the government and legal authorities?
Ans: The whole system of Neev is based on approval from key government officials. Our software have already been implemented in a few districts after prior permission from their respective district heads. In fact, some of them have even appreciated our software like Mr.D.Suresh, DC, Sirsa, Haryana; Mr.Vinod Shukla, APO, DRDA, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh; etc.

Can I give copies of the software to third parties?
Ans: Giving copies of any of our software to third parties is strictly prohibited. Any act of this kind shall be considered illegal. Only those people who have paid the User License fee shall be authorized to use them. Also, the number of users shall be decided by the User License for which a fee has been paid.

Are software upgradation facilities provided?
Ans: Yes, software upgrades shall be available to the licensed users of our software at a nominal charge.

What protection is provided against viruses?
Ans: Neev shall guarantee that our software shall be virus free but, there are no guarantees for external sources of virus infection.

What are the various modes of payment accepted by Neev?
Ans: All kinds of payments should be made by means of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Cyber Infodev Pvt. Ltd., payable at New Delhi.

Are credit payments accepted?
Ans: No credit payments shall be accepted. Our software shall be dispatched within 15 days of receiving the full payment by means of a Demand Draft.

What types of discounts are available?
Ans: No discounts are available on the purchase of any of our software. This is possible only when certain special schemes are announced by our marketing team. Eg, 'x'% discount on purchase of 'n' software before a prescribed date.

Will no more paper work be required at all?
Ans: Our software do not claim to do away with paper work completely. They aim to computerize various processes by means a software. Thus, paper work shall be minimized and not done away with completely.

Will Neev's software reduce the manpower requirements?
Ans: Neev's software aim to computerize various manual tasks of government officials. Thus, they shall simplify and quicken their tasks. Reduction in manpower could be in terms of increased efficiency of officials that shall result in the elimination of a few, who were not contributing much to the productivity of the organization as a whole.

Can these software be accessed online?
Ans: The software that are being offered by Neev at present need to be installed on the user's system. They cannot be accessed online though in future we shall develop certain online applications also. Needless to say, this depends on the response of the customers to our current software and their future demands.

What if there are certain changes in various schemes?
Ans: Due care has been taken to make the software according to the latest specifications of various schemes. They are scalable enough to incorporate minor variations. If there are major changes in the schemes then upgraded versions of software shall be available on demand. A nominal charge has to be paid for the same.

How long does it take for an average user to learn how to use the software?
Ans: The time taken to learn how to use a software depends on various factors like computer literacy level of the user, familiarity with various schemes, willingness to accept technological changes and other such technical or psychological factors. But, on an average a user shall take 4-6 days to get familiar with a software though Neev's Customer Care Executive is always there to help him.

Is training provided for the use of software?
Ans: We, at Neev understand our customers and their needs very well. Though our software are very user-friendly, there may still be some customers who might need additional assistance in using them. Keeping this facet in mind, we have designed a comprehensive Training programme for each of the software.

What is the cost of training for the use of softwares?
Ans: The following is the cost-breakup for training in the usage of Neev IAY, Neev BPL, Neev SGSY and Neev Watershed software:

Do all the software have same look & feel?
Ans: All the software of Neev shall have a common interface and look & feel. This has been done so that a user who is familiar with one software can easily learn to use the others. The functionalities that are common to all software have the same menus, same order, same placement, etc.

Is there any help provided in the software?
Ans: A separate Help menu has been provided in all software that covers functionalities like keyboard help; how to open, save, delete, add, etc records or files or forms; how to use various forms and reports, etc. Apart from this a User Manual shall accompany each software that shall give details starting from how to install the software to the minutest details of how to use it to how to quit. If even after this the user faces some problem then our Customer Care Executive can be contacted via phone or email. The user also has an option to get training for the use of the software for a nominal charge.

What are the minimum hardware & software requirements to install a software?
Ans: Minimum hardware requirement: Pentium I or above, 64 MB RAM
Minimum software requirement: Windows 98 or above

What is the minimum computer literacy level required to use the software?
Ans: Though it is always better that a user should be familiar with the basics of computer like MS-Office & the Internet, it is not a pre-requisite to use our software. Due care has been taken to make them as user friendly as possible so that even a computer novice can use it.

Are there any additional utilities provided with the software?
Ans: Our site provides a rich pool of e-Governance resources that is updated at regular intervals. Apart from this useful tips are provided about the usage of the software, within the software itself. More utilities shall be added in the future versions of the software depending on the response and needs of the users.

What kind of an experience does Neev have in the field of e-Governance?
Ans: Neev has an experience of over 4 years in the field of e-governance. Its first project in this sector was 'Gyandoot' way back in February 2000. Since then it has come a long way and has provided a host of solutions to various private, public and development organisations. Our clientele includes Rajiv Gandhi Shiksha Mission, Madhya Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation, Madhya Pradesh Police Organisation, Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India, etc. Our e-governance software have already been installed at 6 districts across India. Recently, we have set up an e-Prashaasan Kendra in Sirsa district of Haryana. Thus, Neev has very strong foundation in this sector and now wants to use its experience to the benefit of the country as a whole.

How much data can be stored using the software?
Ans: There is no limit to the amount of data that can be stored using the software. But, it depends on other external factors like the hard disk capacity of the computer, etc. Thus, there is no limitation from the software's point of view.

Where do these software stand in the international market?
Ans: The current software have been made keeping in mind the structure of District Governments of India. But, they are scalable enough to incorporate minor variations. As far as the international market is concerned our strong points are the quality of our software, our experience, our concept and a team with vision to reach new heights. Neev is open to developing software for the international markets too.

Is there any discount on bulk purchase?
Ans: There is no discount on bulk purchase. The prices of all software are fixed. Discounts may available only under circumstances when our marketing team announces some promotional schemes.

Can two or more software be integrated?
Ans: Our software are scalable enough to incorporate minor changes. Since the interface and basic functionality of all the software is the same, two or more software can be integrated, if the customer demands.

How user friendly are these software?
Ans: Due care has been taken to make the software as user friendly as possible. They have been developed keeping in mind the needs of the users after consultation with them. The naming convention is such that the user can comprehend the significance and functionality of various forms and reports easily. A Help menu has been incorporated in all software that gives a detailed description about various forms and reports, keyboard usage, changing the arrangement of windows, etc. The interface of all the software of Neev has been kept common so that the users do not find it difficult to switch over from one to another. Above all, our software are scalable enough to incorporate minor variations as per the needs of the users.

Which Operating System do these software run on?
Ans: Neev's software are compatible with Windows platform.

How many days does it take to get a software related problem solved?
Ans: A dedicated Customer Care Executive shall be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding Sundays and national holidays, to solve all kinds of queries related to Neev's software. The users have an option to either call or email or mail or fax their problems. The Customer Care Executive shall get the queries solved as soon as possible.

Is there any facility of remote diagnosis?
Ans: As of now there is no provision for remote diagnosis but in future this might be possible depending upon the response of the users. Though due care has been taken to make the software bug free, still if there are any problems then the Customer Care Executive shall get the problem solved, even if it involves a person to visit the user.

What is a software?
Ans: A software is a set of programs that is used to achieve a specified task. For the end user it can be considered as a set of various screens through which data can be input to generate reports. e.g., the Internet Explorer browser that we commonly use to access various sites is a software, the MS-Office suite is a collection of various software like MS-Word, MS-Excel, etc.

What is hardware?
Ans: Hardware refers to the physical components of a computer like the monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.

How are Neev software different from those of its competitors?
Ans: Neev does not claim that it has achieved a technological breakthrough but, it is a major step in the direction of providing solutions for e-governance. There are a few organisations that claim to have done the same but, still there is a gap between claims and reality. Our software have been made to cater to various sectors of e-governance like implementation and management of various rural development programmes, identification of BPL people, etc. Thus, the basic focus of Neev shall be to help various government personnel overcome certain problems that they face in the implementation of their tasks.

Are there any trial versions available for the software?
Ans: All software of Neev have a trial version with a trial period of 15 days. Thus, the users can satisfy themselves about the viability of software before placing an order for the same.

What is the time period for the trial versions of software?
Ans: The trial period for all software of Neev is 15 days during or after which the users can place an order for the same.

Is any assistance provided during the trial period?
Ans: Depending upon the needs of the users assistance shall be provided to them during the trial period. Each of our software contains a comprehensive Help menu that provides details about various forms and reports and other details about the usage of the software. These Help menus are self-sufficient but, personal assistance can be provided on demand.

What kind of documents shall accompany the software?
Ans: The Trial versions of our software shall be accompanied by an Installation Manual. On the other hand, the licensed versions of our software shall be accompanied by an Installation Manual and a User Manual, which shall give a detailed description of using the software right from installation to entering data to viewing reports to quitting.

What are the various formalities required to buy a software?
Ans: The procedure to buy any of Neev's software is very simple. All that the customer has to do is contact the Customer Care Executive by phone, email, mail or fax; fill the Order Form and pay the amount by means of a Demand Draft. Before filling the Order Form the customer should take care that he has read and understood the terms and conditions of using the licensed version of the software.

What kind of testing has been done on the software?
Ans: All our software undergo various phases of testing to ensure that the best quality is delivered to the user. First phase involves the Alpha Testing that is done by the Software Testing team at our Development Centre. This is followed by Beta Testing that is done by getting some sample users to use the software. Apart from this the software developers test the software on a regular basis to ensure that there are no bugs from their end.

Have the software been tested with real-life data?
Ans: Yes, all our software have been tested with real-life data before sending them to the end users.

Are there any recommendations from some government officials?
Ans: Our software have been implemented successfully in a few districts of India. The very first step to get the trial versions to the customers involves taking permissions from top government officials. Some of them like Mr.D.Suresh, DC, Sirsa, Haryana and Mr.Vinod Shukla, APO, DRDA, Bhopal, MP, have appreciated our efforts after using them.

Are there any data backup facilities?
Ans: All our software come with the option of taking a data backup. Not only this, the backed up data can be restored at a later date, if required.

What is the target audience for Neev's software?
Ans: The sole purpose of our software is to help the government officials in implementing their tasks with ease. Thus, Neev's target audiences are all the government officials, who aim at bringing e-governance revolution in India.

How do we install these software?
Ans: The software installation process is explained in depth in the Installation Manual that shall accompany the software. It is very simple and in the form of a wizard that shall guide the user through the entire installation process.

What is the maintenance guarantee and charges?
Ans: Though due care has been taken to deliver the best quality standards to our users, Neev does not provide any guarantees. It has a dedicated Call Centre to solve the queries of its users but, there is nothing like a guarantee period for the same.

Is there any package that Neev offers or only individual software?
Ans: Neev has developed a variety of software catering to various sectors of e-governance. Depending upon the needs of the customers they can be clubbed together in the form of a package as the software are inter-related or can be purchased individually.

Are any details provided for various schemes?
Ans: A detailed description of various schemes is given on our website, www.cyberinfodev.com/neev. Description of the schemes shall also be provided in the Help menu of their respective software.

What are the future plans of Neev? Where does it go from here now?
Ans: Having implemented 4 of our e-governance software namely, Neev BPL, Neev SGSY, Neev IAY and Neev Watershed, successfully in 6 districts of India, Neev plans to expand its network to 25 districts in the next one year. It has a few software in the pipeline like Neev SGRY, Neev Panchayat Accounts, Neev DRDA Accounts, etc. Apart from these software, Neev plans to set up 5 more e-Prashaasan Kendras in 5 different districts in the next one year.
